Assistant Technical Services Manager

Job Introduction

To work with the Technical Services Manager to ensure that the Resort (Hotel and Spa), including plant, fixtures and fittings are maintained to the highest standard through both planned and reactive maintenance, adhering to Heath, Safety and other legal requirements, whilst supporting the Resort and services offered. To deputize for the Technical Services Manager in their absence.

Role Responsibility

  • To work with the Technical Services Manager to ensure the property and plant are in excellent working condition and enable a 5* service to be delivered to guests.
  • To deputize for the Technical Services Manager in their absence.
  • To co-ordinate and allocate tasks to maintenance team members, manage work distribution and ensure completion of tasks to required standard.
  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with legislation and regulations pertaining to repair and maintenance e.g. building structure, decoration, gas, electric, sewerage, water and Health and Safety.
  • Comply with Company purchasing procedures, utilising nominated suppliers and to provide feedback to procurement and Special Services on suppliers and services.
  • Conduct regular equipment checks and preventive maintenance reporting to minimize replacement costs.
  • Responsible with Manager for the ongoing update and management of the property online health and safety portal Shieldyourself, ensuring that all actions are up to date and relevant, helping to eliminate risk of any health and safety breaches.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in a similar role in a similar environment
  • Experience of supervising or managing a team
  • IOSH and or NEBOSH qualified is preferred
  • A skill based qualification such as Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry is preferred
  • Ability to deal with a wide range of basic maintenance repairs
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • The ability to liaise efficiently with other Hotel departments
