An exciting opportunity has become available at South Lodge, an Exclusive Hotel & Spa for a passionate and experienced Deputy Head Housekeeper. In the absence of the Head Housekeeper you would be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high standards of service on a daily basis within our 49 bedroom country house hotel.   

 

Role Responsibility

Lots to do but lots of fun

Our successful Deputy Head Housekeeper will;

  • Rota staff on duty according to the needs of the business
  • Liaise with the reception team to make sure that guest’s personal requests and needs are met
  • Maintain the standards of the department in terms of daily task lists, allocating rooms to be cleaned per team member, number of rooms checked per supervisor, laundry daily check list and presentation of bedrooms and corridors
  • Check Promark on a daily basis and take actions accordingly such as approvals etc
  • Be responsible for training the team 
  • Be responsible for reporting and follow up all maintenance issues
  • Ensure the bedrooms are ready for the guests to arrive by check in time.
  • Ensure all public areas and all public toilets are clean tidy and corridors free from trays, linen etc
  • Be responsible for COSHH and issuing the correct PPE for the task
  • Maintain and control stock levels and order products through Epic
  • Ensure lost property is recorded correctly and stored in a secure manner
  • Report any damage or misuse of the facilities to the Head Housekeeper.
  • Ensure extra beds, twin beds, cots, flowers or anything else needed are in the room for the comfort of the guests.

  • Have previous experience in a similar environment at a similar level
  • Demonstrate strong levels of written and spoken English language
  • Be able to maintain and drive standards in the department
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines
  • Prioritise work load and be able to multi task
  • Demonstrate people skills - manage, motivate and discipline and team
  • Display a strong guest focus
  • Demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, strong communication skills
  • Work with consistency & quality
