Job Introduction
Working as part of the Grounds Team, your role is instrumental in the up keep of all the hotel external areas.
Role Responsibility
Our successful Grounds Person will be responsible for;
- Maintaining the tractors, chainsaws, lawn mowers, blowers and all garden equipment to ensure they are in perfect working order.
- Cutting and maintaining the lawns (feeding etc) to ensure a perfect lawn for our guests.
- General tree maintenance (i.e. feathering/disease) and production of logs for fires.
- Ensuring grounds (oval/patio etc) are well maintained to meet the guest’s expectations.
- Erecting and taking down of the marques as required by the hotel.
- Pest control and ensuring that it is maintained at a reasonable level.
- The safe keeping of the drive in winter conditions to ensure safety at all times.
The Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have;
- Friendly disposition and customer service experience
- 2-3 years experience in lawn care/green keeping.
- Tractor/lawn mowing equipment experience
- Previous experience of gardening with a genuine interest or desire to progress in horticulture
- Ability to work both as part of a team or unsupervised
- Experience of handling gardening machinery and the required certificates of competence. (Chainsaw/spraying certificates)
- Attention to detail

- Physical fitness and stamina
