Senior Retail Assistant

Job Introduction

To assist the Golf Operations and Retail Department in delivering the highest levels of service to all golf club guests, members and visitors.  Participate and co-coordinate all golf related events in conjunction with the sales, food and beverage and greenkeeping departments and maximise sales opportunities in line with set KPI’s. To be a role model, motivate and lead the team in the absence of the Golf Operations and Retail Manager. To proactively encourage the very highest levels of guest care and deliver WOW experiences.

Role Responsibility

  • To build firm relationships with the Committee, Corporate Golf Clients and Members through guest profiling, meet & greet, participation in show-rounds, committee meetings and club events.
  • To manage the membership fixture list in conjunction with your line manager, sales and food and beverage in order to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.
  • To be a proactive, approachable, reliable and flexible part of the team
  • Attend weekly and monthly team meetings and in the absence of your line manager, chair.
  • To take part in a quarterly team build
  • Work with your line manage to effectively manage poor performance in the team
  • Work with your line manager to oversee the retail training requirements in the department and the development of the team in key areas as outlined by your line manager
  • Assist in managing wage percentage through effective use of team member’s based on the needs of the business
  • Ensure EPIC is used for all purchases
  • Champion upselling to all marketing segments and develop a proactive selling culture
  • To promote revenue awareness and maximise sales opportunities
  • Ensure GP% are achieved at all times
  • Ensure cash handling processes are followed at all times
  • To bring a proactive approach by researching new techniques, methods and ideas to keep us at the forefront of the industry.

The Ideal Candidate

  • At least 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Keen and enthusiastic attitude coupled with drive, energy and stamina
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • PC literacy including excellent working knowledge of ESP and Delphi
  • Ability to contribute and influence at a senior level within the business
  • Ambition to succeed, willingness to work hard and strong desire to learn
  • Flexibility to work hours required by the business
  • Innovation, creativity and attention to detail
  • Confident and ‘Exclusive’ personality
