Golf Operations and Retail Manager

Job Introduction

To lead the Golf Operations and Retail Department to deliver the highest levels of service to all golf club guests, members and visitors. 

Co-ordinate all golf related events in conjunction with the sales, food and beverage and greenkeeping departments and maximise sales opportunities in line with set KPI’s.

To be a role model, motivate and lead the team. To champion the very highest levels of guest care and deliver WOW experiences.

Role Responsibility

Our Golf Operations and Retail Manager will be responsible for;

  • Building firm relationships with the Committee, Corporate Golf Clients and Members through guest profiling, meet & greet, participation in show-rounds, committee meetings and club events.
  • Delivering the best Membership Open Events in the county through proactive recruitment of participants, delivery and post event care.
  • Achieving 85% and above on 59 Club criteria
  • Holding regular team meetings
  • Effective rotaing across seasons
  • Working with the HR department to effectively manage poor performance in the team and where necessary recruit new team members
  • Working with the HR team and Group T&D manager to oversee training requirements in the department and the development of the team including regular reviews
  • Managing wage percentages with costed rota and ProMark
  • Championing upselling to all marketing segments
  • Ensuring cash handling processes are followed at all times
  • Consistently delivering company standards
  • Ensuring that all documentation used during the Customer Journey is on-brand in delivery

The Ideal Candidate

Our ideal Golf Operations and Retail Manager will;

  • Have at least 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Be PGA Qualified or equivalent
  • Have a keen and enthusiastic attitude coupled with drive, energy and stamina
  • Have an ability to work under pressure and multitask
  • Possess exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Be PC literate including excellent working knowledge of ESP and Delphi
  • Have an ability to contribute and influence at a senior level within the business
  • Have ambition to succeed, willingness to work hard and a strong desire to learn
  • Be flexible to work hours required by the business
  • Possess innovation, creativity and attention to detail
  • Be confident and demonstrate an 'Exclusive’ personality
