Revenue and Sales Manager

Job Introduction

The Revenue and Sales Manager is a key member of the hotel team, working with the General Manager. Responsible for maximizing yield and profitability of all revenue streams, through the strategic implementation of an effective Sales & Marketing plan, in order to support the delivery of the Hotel Budget.

Role Responsibility

  • To develop, manage and deliver the property’s pricing and market mix strategy for property’s revenue streams (rooms, golf, spa, food & beverage, weddings, banqueting, meetings and events etc), in order to support the delivery of the Hotel Budget
  • To work in-line and deliver to Exclusive’s revenue management strategies and reporting processes, as guided by the Group Revenue Manager / Group Director of Sales & Marketing
  • To manage, drive and motivate the on-property sales teams
  • To work closely with the Group functions, in order to highlight current selling strategies, potential risks and key opportunities for improving conversion and increasing revenue
  • Ownership to create and deliver the Hotel budget, ensuring effective measurement and constant review of performance, in order to ensure adequate demand generated across all business segments
  • To support the Regional Sales Executive / Manager in identifying, developing and maintaining strong account management and networking opportunities with key potential existing and new Clients and Associations, in order to retain and grow business relationships and increase revenue
  • To support M.I.C.E.  Sales Team in improving conversion, where applicable, by calling and following-up on key enquiries
  • To ensure a clear strategy and sales plan is in place to drive wedding revenue and average value of weddings forward
  • To ensure delivery of the wedding sales budget through effective measurement and constant review of performance
  • To ensure constant review and analysis of third party partnerships eg Expedia, Booking.com, Evolution, Third Party Wedding Websites etc in order to ensure business delivery to base property
  • To report on conversions, yield meetings, pick-up, business on the books, monthly financial packs, ensuring all team members hotel-wide are aware of the targets, opportunities and challenges
  • To analyse and deliver profitable revenue through each revenue stream
  • Experience to operate and maintain in-house booking systems (SMS and Delphi) as per Exclusive Hotels and Venues standards
  • To ensure constant review of business on the books, in order to demonstrate effective diary management at all times
  • To deliver accurate sales forecasts weekly for 6 months ahead, through effective use of available computer systems, to support consolidation of group forecast
  • To create, implement and report monthly on current sales activity, ensuring relevant activity in place to deliver budget per market segment
  • To complete property dashboard monthly for use of analysis and corrective activity
  • To anticipate the guests’ needs in order to enhance quality of service and positively promote sales to maximise on all revenue opportunities
  • To hold fortnightly Yield Meetings and monthly Sales Meetings to ensure constant review and focus on business trends, demand and opportunity
  • To analyse and co-ordinate calls to re-book key bookings
  • To analyse and co-ordinate calls to key Lost and Turned-down opportunities
  • To effectively recruit, train, drive and develop all members of the Sales Team
  • To conduct performance reviews, 1:1’s and personal development reviews with all team members in line with company policy
  • To monitor and maintain training records and individual personal development plans
  • To monitor the effectiveness of enquiries coming in to each aspect of the sales office
  • To ensure the Sales & Marketing strategy, Hotel Budget and objectives are clearly communicated to and understood by the team
  • To foster and develop effective employee relations throughout the hotel and business, in particular with Group Sales Team, property Sales Managers, Marketing and Business Development Team
  • To develop succession plans for key positions within the sales and revenue team
  • To communicate with all areas of the business in a concise and accurate manner, ensuring that all on-property and non-property based personnel are familiar and up-to-date on product knowledge
  • To establish and maintain effective internal and external communications including briefings and monthly meetings in order to ensure optimum teamwork and productivity with all properties
  • To monitor sickness and absenteeism on a weekly basis ensuring that return to work interviews are conducted consistently
  • To be up-to-date and knowledgeable on competitor activity
  • To create and deliver Wow show-rounds in order to increase conversion on enquiries
  • To create, manage, promote and host innovative show-rounds and events for potential Clients and relevant Media
  • To support in organising and hosting any Client show-cases organised by the Group
  • To ensure great attention to detail and care is taken in the creation and communication of our Business Event Orders
  • To ensure that the Hotel is correctly represented across all marketing channels, in-house and on-line
  • To support the handling of challenging clients and negative feedback, to positively reflect property and Brand image, revenue and profit
  • To ensure ownership and consistency in the Brand – direct marketing, in-house marketing, collateral and third-party websites
  • To be the ambassador for base hotel and Exclusive Hotels and Venues in the local area

 

The Ideal Candidate

  •  Previous experience in a luxury hotel
  • To ensure ownership and consistency in the Brand business-wide
  • Direct experience of revenue management and operations
  • Previous experience in hospitality
  • Previous experience in managing teams
  • Skills in Delphi and SMS preferable
  • Strong / effective presentational and communication skills
  • Effective coaching skills
  • Strong preference for analysing and organising numerical financial and statistical data
  • Persuasiveness and influencing skills
